WHAT IS TONSIL STONES?Tonsil stones is theorized to be a combination of dead white blood cells, oral bacteria, and some debris get trapped inside the tonsillar crypts. These formations are not totally declared as a life threatening condition. But if you neglect attending to it, you will experience discomfort in swallowing food and constant pain or sore throat. It is better if you can poke them out easily but there are tonsil stones that are embedded inside the tonsil crypts and are harder to pull out. Usually these stones is considered carrier of halitosis. The symptoms of having tonsil stones are sore throat, chronic cough, bad taste in the back of the throat and recurrent of bad breath. Removing tonsil stones can be done individually and even at home. Using a cotton buds to poke it out of the tonsil crypts might work. Once you had these stones out, try practicing good dental hygiene and garlge water with salt in order to wash away bacteria and some debris inside your tonsillar crypts to avoid more formations. Brushing everyday and flossing every meal won’t hurt us. In fact, it helps us avoid the factors that causes dental problems and formations of tonsil stones. Some would want to permanently remove their tonsils just to avoid having tonsil stones which is not a guaranteed solution to also stop bad breath. This procedure also has a long recovery period and some comes back to hospital for bleeding and infection.
