Natural Toothpastes and Fluoride – Why You Don’t Want FluorideDo you buy toothpaste that contains fluoride? If so, you may be making a mistake and you may want to consider the benefits of natural toothpastes. Fluoride is something you likely grew up learning about. It was likely in the toothpaste products you use and you thought it was a good thing. The problem is many experts agree that fluoride is one of the biggest hoaxes you will find. In many cases, the American public has been tricked into believing this chemical is a good thing for their dental health and it may be anything but. What Is Wrong With It?
This is only a partial list of the countries that no longer use fluoride. The problem is, many people still believe that fluoride is able to help fight off cavities in people. Although there are some that believe this, the studies done most recently indicate that fluoride is not as capable of preventing cavities as people once thought. In fact, studies continue to come back stating the evidence is inconclusive. However, there are other problems with this product, too. Fluoride is also a problem because of what it does to your mouth. It has been proven that it does cause damage to connective tissues. Connective tissues in the mouth are the gums. These tissues are critical to holding your teeth in place and preventing any type of gum disease. Since fluoride damages these tissues it can worsen or even cause gum problems for you. For those who already have gum problems, this can lead to the inability of your gums to reattach themselves to your teeth, thus hindering your gum disease recovery. If you are still using any type of toothpaste that contains fluoride, think again. It is a better option to choose natural toothpaste which does not contain any type of chemicals and that does not contain fluoride. In addition to this, these toothpaste products are excellent at fighting off the bacteria that cause gum disease. It will not harm your gums either, thus if you already have gum disease, natural toothpaste will encourage healing rather than take away from it. Consider the advantages to switching to natural toothpaste instead of what you are using right now.
