Perio-Gard Rinse

Largely unnoticed and unseen, the dental community is always on the look out for new ways to treat the gingivitis disease. One of the more recent discoveries has been the Perio-Gard Rinse. Just as it sounds, it is a mouthwash formulated to fight the effects of periodontal disease and its symptoms. Gum disease is the most common of dental disease and affects thousands of new patients every year. This is just the latest of weapons in the arsenal to stop gum disease, however like any medical treatment, you should learn about it before using it.

  • the new gingivitis treatment
  • people with precautions
  • using it properly

The first thing to know about this new way of treating gum disease is what it is. We have already established that it is a mouthwash used to treat the symptoms of gum disease. This medication contains the ingredient chlorhexidine, a treatment for red, swollen gums and the other effects of dental gum disease. While you still have to maintain your brushing and flossing habits, Perio-Gard Rinse is incredibly beneficial in eliminating the gum disease causing bacteria. It can be used as a treatment for periodontal gum disease or as a preventative measure.

Most people with gingivitis gum disease aren't going to have any problem using this treatment, but it's always better to err on the side of caution. Anyone with an allergy of any kind should be sure to notify his or her dentist before using this product. As far as anyone knows perio-gard rinse is safe for pregnant women and has no known side effects. The same thing applies for nursing mothers. Older adults may wish to exercise caution as well. There are no known complications to them, however there hasn't been any specific studies done to determine if it affects older adults the same way it does younger adults.

Like every medication, perio-gard rinse has to be used exactly as it is prescribed. Most dentists suggest using it after you have already brushed and flossed your teeth. Be sure to rinse all of the toothpaste from your mouth before rinsing with chlorhexidine. It's best to not eat or drink for a few hours after treating your teeth and gums.

Whether or not you choose to use Perio-Gard rinse, you have to be impressed with the many gingivitis gums treatments available. Of course you can save yourself all of the bother and use OraMD to keep your gums and teeth strong. It is also good to fix gum lines that are receding and red and to take steps to prevent periodontal disease.
