Conditions:
Gum disease or periodontal disease is usually not painful,
especially in its early stages. Many people have gum disease or
periodontal disease and don’t even know it. Gum disease or
periodontal disease, which is caused by bacteria in plaque, infects
the gums if it is allowed to build up.
Gum disease or periodontal disease is a major cause of tooth loss in
adults. The beginning stage of gum disease or periodontal disease is
also known as gingivitis. If your gums are healthy, they will fit tightly
against your teeth. But if you have gum disease (periodontal disease),
the gums will gradually begin to pull away from your teeth in response
to the bacterial infection.
Gums can become red, swollen and bleed easily during the early stages
of gum disease (periodontal disease). However, gum disease or periodontal
disease is still reversible during this stage and can usually be eliminated
by daily brushing and flossing.
The advanced stage of gum disease or periodontal disease is referred
to as periodontitis. If proper oral hygiene is not performed regularly,
plaque and tartar will continue to build up, causing the gums to recede
from the teeth, and pockets to form between the teeth and gums. The
gums and bone that support the teeth can become seriously damaged during
this stage of gum disease or periodontal disease.
In the most advanced stages of gum disease or
periodontal disease, the gums recede further, and destroy more bone.
In latter phases of gum disease, periodontal tissue is weakened or destroyed.
Often times, the teeth become loose, fall out or have to be removed
by a dentist.
Fortunately, with a little effort and effective bacterial fighting
toothpaste, gum disease or periodontal disease can be avoided.
Get relief from bleeding gums, gingivitis and
gum disease...guaranteed.
