How Effective Is Laser As Periodontal Disease Treatment?
To treat periodontal disease, the use of laser has been considered effective by many periodontists and dentists. The use of laser substitutes the traditional treatment involving cutting the gum tissue which has been a very painful procedure that often involves narcotic painkillers and recovery time. Using the laser has the ability to destroy the bacteria that causes periodontal disease without damaging the tissue. It was found to be a procedure that results to less pain, less bleeding and less swelling for periodontal disease patients. Aside from destroying the bacteria, periodontal disease treatment using laser also cleanses the teeth, remove dead tissue and clot the area, and also whitens it.
